- Twinning of schools in Simferopol and Heidelberg
- Internship exchanges for motivated and talented school-leavers
- Multilateral projects, such as a workshop on the future of youth work organized by Heidelberg’s association of youth organizations, involving Cambridge, Bautzen, Rehovot and Simferopol (1996)
Exchange between citizens, associations and institutions:
- Visits by groups of citizens: Study and encounter trips to Simferopol by citizens of Heidelberg or to Heidelberg by citizens of Simferopol, organized by the Heidelberg-Simferopol friendship society and other institutions; regular visits by groups of members of the Handschuhsheim district resident’s association and of citizens of Kievskij Rayon, since 1993
- Visits to Heidelberg by professional groups, e.g. journalists or police officers, from Simferopol
- Hospital twinning between Salem Hospital and the Handschuhsheim Evangelical city mission and the Kievskij Rayon polyclinic II, since 1995
- Twinning of the Alt Heidelberg society of deaf people with the Simferopol society of deaf people since 1997
- Annual relief efforts organized by the Heidelberg-Simferopol friendship society and the Handschuhsheim district resident’s association
- International sports symposium with Heidelberg’s twin cities organized by Sportkreis Heidelberg and the City of Heidelberg since 1999
Cultural exchange:
- Concerts in Heidelberg and Simferopol, including benefit concerts for Simferopol
- Establishment of friendly relations between the society of friends of the Heidelberg academy of music and singing and the Tchaikovsky College of Music Simferopol since 1998
- Several theater performances and guest performances by theater groups in Heidelberg and Simferopol
- Exhibitions in Heidelberg and Simferopol
